Simex Awarded $1.5M Worth of Contracts For RA108 Headset & RA250 Handset Spare Parts
Simex was awarded two contracts worth over $1.5 million to supply the Canadian Department of National Defense with spare parts for RACAL RA108 Slimgard Headsets and RACAL RA250 Slimline Handsets.
Both the RA108 Slimgard Headset and the RA250 Slimline Handset are staples of the Canadian Armed Forces because of their high performance and reliability.
The RA108 Slimgard headset is designed for high noise environments, and features active noise reduction (ANR) technology. The RA108 is compatible with all PASGT-style helmets found across the world, as well as as wide variety of other weapons and equipment. The Headsets are designed for greater mobility and comfort. They remain stable on the head when moving over rough terrain due to their neckband and over-helmet strap designs, and patented cushion technology helps reduce soldier fatigue. The RA108 also enables face-to-face communications through a battery powered electronic talk-through which uses microphones mounted on the outside of each earshell.
The RA250 Slimline Handset has a rugged construction and features a low-profile earpiece which makes it easy to use with different types of helmets. It has a flexible configuration designed specifically for customized applications, and a high EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) performance. The RA250 is waterproof and easy to service.
Simex Defence is the sole Canadian distributor of Racal Acoustics products in Canada.
