Simex awarded C$1.5M contract for Pratt & Whitney helicopter engine spares
Simex Defence has been awarded a C$1.5M contract to supply Transport Canada with two Pratt & Whitney turbine engines equipped with fuel heaters, for use on the Bell 429 helicopter.
The Bell 429 helicopter is a twin engine helicopter which can be reconfigured for a number of different missions due to its readily adaptable cabin. It delivers high speed and features single pilot IFR and WAAS precision approach capabilities.
The Canadian Coast Guard has recently ordered 15 Bell 429 helicopters.
The Canadian Coast Guard missions involve logistical support, maritime patrol, environmental research, and aiding scientific missions to remote locations. They also support other government departments when needed.
