Simex Defence Awarded Major Contract to Replace Main Engine Lub Oil Coolers for Royal Canadian Navy
Simex Defence has been awarded a significant contract to supply and replace a number of Main Engine Lub Oil Coolers [MLOC] for the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax-class frigates. This contract will ensure continued operational readiness of the RCN fleet, helping to maintain its capability to carry out critical missions, essential for safeguarding Canada’s sovereignty and maritime security.
For over 30 years, the Halifax-class frigates have relied on the flawless performance of many of Therco-Serck products. Even after three decades in service the original MLOC’s, manufactured in the UK, have been praised by the Navy’s technical authorities for their long standing resilience and endurance. Therco-Serck actually holds intellectual property [IP] rights over 500,000 drawings relating to the full range of Serck type coolers installed all over the world and in many different applications. Going forward, this archive will enable the production of like-for-like, directly interchangeable replacements for this application and many others like it for the Canadian Naval Frigates and Submarines alike.
