Simex Defence has been awarded a contract to supply Silvus Technologies’ Stream Caster Manet Radios to Defence Research and Development Canada – in support of their advanced EW & C-UAS initiatives.
DRDC‑ORC is conducting critical R&D focused on leveraging airborne sensors to develop next‑generation Electronic Surveillance (ES) capabilities. To enable this work, the program requires a robust, low‑SWaP, dual‑band Mobile Ad‑hoc Network (MANET) data link between airborne payloads and ground control stations—one that avoids interference with EW applications while supporting high‑throughput sensor data.
Simex Defence will be providing Silvus StreamCaster MANET radios, fully compatible with the partner systems used in joint field testing. Silvus radios are known for their:
· True MANET capability – self‑forming, self‑healing mesh networks
· High‑performance dual‑band operations for maximum flexibility
· Ultra‑low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) radio modules suitable for airborne platforms
