Simex Defence is pleased to announce it has been awarded a Standing Offer for Tactical Hearing Protection & Communication equipment, with a value of up to $60 million.
This award follows a rigorous competitive procurement process and reflects the strength of our offer, our technical partnerships, and our track record delivering leading solutions to CAF.
Under this Standing Offer, Simex will supply RA5100 tactical headsets, RA 71 Push-to-Talk units, associated cabling and spares, and sustainment services throughout the life of the contract.
The RA5100 delivers active noise reduction (ANR) and hearing protection that meets the highest hearing-protection standards, while preserving natural situational awareness — critical for dismounted operations where soldiers need to hear commands, threats, and terrain cues without removing protection. The system offers plug-and-play connectivity across multiple radio types, reducing cabling complexity and configuration time for units in the field. The system is also software-defined, allowing capability upgrades to be delivered through firmware updates rather than hardware replacement —ensuring the fleet can evolve alongside future mission requirements and radio systems.
This capability is delivered in partnership with Invisio, whose engineering, project management, and technical teams bring world-leading expertise in tactical hearing protection and communication systems. Invisio’s Danish-engineered solutions are trusted by allied forces around the world, and we’re proud to bring that capability to the CAF through this award.
Most importantly, this Standing Offer gives the CAF a proven, fielded capability supporting both mounted and dismounted operations, with interoperability across existing and future radio fleets, and simplified cabling and configuration management for units in the field.
